Our story begins on December 7, 2015 - the day my son, was allergy tested and all the tests were negative. The allergist concluded that M had FPIES, Food Protein Intolerance Enterocolitis Syndrome. FPIES is similar to food allergies, but instead of hives, throat closing, and an epipen, he gets flu like symptoms. FPIES is usually outgrown by the time a child is 3-5 years old. The allergist does not want him to eat potatoes, rice, wheat, barley, or oats for 1 year. When we go back to see him in December 2016, we will start with potatoes, then rice and wheat. Once M is a little older, we will try barley and oats.
So, we started this blog not only to help us keep track of great website that we're using but to also share tips and recipes that a baby loves to eat with the limited amount of grains his little body can handle.
